27 March – 25 April 2027 Sydney, Australia
The ultimate spectacle of love, war and operatic grandeur
Experience one of Sydney's most spectacular outdoor events as Opera Australia's Aida returns to Sydney Harbour in 2027.
Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Verdi's famous opera tells the story of Aida, an Ethiopian princess caught between her love for an Egyptian military commander and loyalty to her homeland. It's a powerful tale of forbidden love, jealousy, betrayal and sacrifice, set amid the grandeur of Ancient Egypt.
Performed on a spectacular open-air stage at Mrs Macquaries Point, this extraordinary production features more than 130 performers and musicians, elaborate costumes, towering sets and fireworks lighting up the harbour at every performance.
Whether you're a lifelong opera enthusiast or experiencing opera for the first time, Aida on Sydney Harbour offers a memorable evening of music, theatre and entertainment in one of the world's most beautiful settings.
Why not make a holiday of it? Combine an evening at the opera with a few days enjoying Sydney's excellent dining, shopping, harbour attractions and cultural experiences.
